Dry Carpet Cleaning

Demonstrating Host Product

Dry cleaning method (HOST System) The HOST Dry Extraction Carpet Cleaning System is a simple and effective method that allows you to deep clean your carpet anytime without the inconvenience of getting it wet. There is no need to take the carpet out of service for a long period of time. With HOST, carpet can be clean, dry and look its best every day.

HOST System is comprised of the Liberator and Freestyle ExtractorVac® and a cleaning product that acts like millions of tiny, absorbent sponges. The HOST sponges contain water, detergents and green cleaning chemistry which deep clean by dissolving and absorbing the greasy, oily dirt. The HOST System lifts the pile; removes dry dirt; chemically deep cleans carpet and removes spots and spills immediately. HOST is Green Seal® certified.

Hot Water Extraction

Mould Under Carpet

Hot water and non-sticky detergent are sprayed into the carpet pile under high pressure. The detergent is agitated throughout the pile, dissolving oil bonds and preventing dirt particles from reattaching to the carpet fibres. The water, detergent, and loosened dirt particles are removed through powerful suction. Extractors with a brush between the water jet and vacuum more effectively clean the carpet and are recommended. It is important to use only non-sticky, crystallizing detergents, with a low ph factor between 5 & 7 ph. Extraction equipment that recycles water may leave behind sticky residues that will lead to rapid re-soiling, and is not recommended.

Care must be taken not to over wet the carpet, and only extraction systems that dry within 3-4 hours of cleaning are recommended. Fans and commercial dehumidifiers should be used to speed the drying process.

Unfortunately if a carpet becomes excessively wet during cleaning it’s very likely the cleaning solution will penetrate into the carpet backing and underlay. If too much moisture is left in the carpet, mould growth could form within just 24-48 hours.
